Boadu Returns To Kotoko

Asante Kotoko SC have completed a deal to re-sign former club captain Richard Boadu on a two-year deal following the successful completion of his medical examination.

The midfielder spent two successful seasons with the Porcupine Warriors before moving to Al Ahly Benghazi in July 2023. Boadu played 32 games including the CAF Champions League and scored two goals. He subsequently joined Al Tahaddy Sporting Club in the Libyan league where he featured in 21 games and scored one goal in the 2024-2025 season.

During his first stint at Kotoko, the hard-tackling midfielder won the club’s 26th Premier League title before becoming the club’s captain.

Upon his return to Kotoko, Boadu said he could not have imagined another opportunity to be back at the club.

“I was born and raised in this city, played for the club at youth level and becoming a captain at some stage was everything to my family. Fate has a way of working out and I am grateful that it has given me another chance to wear these colours again to defend the club. I am looking forward to a successful season.”
