KOTOKO MOURNS THE PASSING OF HANS-DIETER SCHMID

Asante Kotoko SC is saddened to learn of the passing of former head coach Hans-Dieter Schmidt. The German led the Porcupine Warriors to the final of the maiden CAF Confederation Cup in 2004 following his transfer from City neighbours King Faisal Football Club.
Schmidt had a brief career as a professional footballer before becoming a coach with Hannover’s youth team. He succumbed to a long and serious illness.
He passed away at the age of 78. The club commiserates with his family as his legacy will forever remain in the club’s history.
