Management of Asante Kotoko on Monday, October 13, 2025, met with the family and widow of the late Francis Yaw Frimpong, affectionately known in the football fraternity as Nana Pooley, whose life was tragically taken at Nsoatre earlier this year. The solemn meeting, held at the club’s secretariat, was to address all issues relating to pre-burial, burial and post-burial rites. Though His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, incurred all the costs for the burial and funeral rites, the King further made some undisclosed financial commitments to the widow and the family of the late Francis Yaw Frimpong. Management also took the opportunity to update the family on the court issue and again, expressed its continued support and deep condolences, assuring the family that the club remains committed to seeking justice for their beloved son. Nana Pooley’s memory continues to live on in the hearts of the Asante Kotoko fraternity as a dedicated supporter whose passion for the club knew no bounds.
