Asante Kotoko SC have been handed a major injury boost ahead of our Ghana Premier League week eight clash with Karela United, with the return of key players, Baba Yahaya and Saaka Dauda to full training.
The club's medical team confirmed the duo’s return after both were sidelined with injuries — Baba nursing a groin problem picked up during preseason, and Saaka recovering from an ankle issue. Baba, who is yet to feature this season, is expected to be in contention for his first appearance as the Porcupine Warriors seek a strong response following their CAF Confederation Cup exit.
In further encouraging news, forward Kwame Opoku, who was stretchered off during the opening-day win over Berekum Chelsea, has resumed training with the youth side, while striker Isaac Mintah is still on the treatment table after undergoing successful surgery three weeks ago.
However, young right-back Shayibu Abubakar remains a long-term absentee after sustaining an ACL injury earlier this month.
