We aim to return to winning ways on Wednesday when we host Accra Lions in our matchday 21 Ghana Premier League game at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors returned to Kumasi on Sunday evening and commenced preparations for matchday 21 at Adako Jachie on Monday afternoon.

Despite the loss in the North East, the Porcupine Warriors are just a win away from catching up with the league leaders ahead of the midweek fixtures.

This will be Accra Lions’ third visit to the Baba Yara Stadium to play Asante Kotoko since making their Premier League debut campaign in the 2021/22 season.

Asante Kotoko picked up maximum points in the reverse fixture in Accra through Kalo Ouattara’s last-minute header.

After our structured training sessions, the technical team and the players are determined and battle ready for the needed points for Wednesday evening’s game.

The Accra-based side returned to beat Berekum Chelsea 5-0 after a draw in their last away game against Legon Cities.

Midfielder Justice Blay, speaking to the club’s media last Sunday, said“the game against Accra Lions is our focus now; it’s a must-win game because we know points build up and our position on the league log. We will not go three games without a victory.” 🔗(https://scasantekotoko.com/news/justice-blay-calls-for-calm)

Accra Lions, who have 24 points from nineteen Premier League games, scoring twenty-two (22) goals while conceding twenty-six (26) goals, have picked up nine (9) points from nine (9) away games this season, scoring seven (7) and conceding thirteen (13).

However, our Warriors have amassed eighteen (18) points from a possible twenty-seven (27) points on home soil.

We have remained unbeaten in our last four (4) Premier League home games, and a win tomorrow will now put us on five (5) consecutive wins for the first time since March 2022.

Moreover, the Wokum Apem A, Apem Beba lads, hope to make it double wins over Accra Lions tomorrow, as they did last season, beating them 4-0 in Kumasi and 1-0 in the return leg in Accra.

Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum will be hoping that run continues as we focus solely on the Premier League title.
